Imani Ray started in the entertainment world through dancing at the age of 14 years old. Dance was her passion. She received formal training from De'Vore's Dance School in New York City at the age of 5 in all genres of dance. Going to De'Vore helped Imani develop some discipline and a foundation that would help her later down the road. After moving to Atlanta, there was not a day that passed and Imani didn't bust a dance move despite no longer attending a dance school. When she was 14 years old, she began becoming more involved with dance auditions and events around the Atlanta area.
Unfortunately, Imani lost her father at the age of 16 years old, and dance no longer seem to bring the happiness it used to. Imani was searching for more only to discover that she had a think for the art of performing while singing and dancing. With the help of vocal training, Imani is now discovering her sound and exploring her true passion as a performer. She turned to Soca music because she always embraced her Trini roots and culture. Now she is incorporating some versatile sounds in her music including reggae and pop. Imani Ray's ultimate goal is to share good vibes through her music with an international audience. - Wayne Bowman of Trinidad Express Newspaper
